Blank structure for creating smoking filters FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to tobacco products, and in particularly for users to create their own smoking filters (filter tips).
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION A homemade cigarette is usually formed by cigarette paper. The user additionally needs to mount a filter on one end of the homemade cigarette, in order to avoid the tobacco entering his/hers mouth.
Such filters applied on homemade cigarettes, are commonly referred to as "filter tips", rolled by a blank structure. There exist many types of filter tips, made by various materials and in different forms. They are typically sold in stacks, containing multiple blank structures, ready for the user to tear one out and roll his/her own smoking filter (filter tip).
The existing filter tips though, have a disadvantage (believed by some). When the user has rolled the filter tip, the filter does not have an externally and internally perfect round shape, and an excess flap is protruding at the end of the filter entering the user's mouth. The user has to squeeze the flap with his/hers thong/mouth, in order to keep the filter having an externally round shape, and thereby preventing the smoke not to excess at undesired places. An inefficient rolling and sealing of the filter tip can result in an inefficient burning of the tobacco product in the cigarette.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
An object of the present invention is to provide an improvement of smoking filters/blank papers, in order to get a more efficient rolling and sealing of the filter tip.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to a blank structure, having a first height, a first width, the blank structure being defined by - an inner rim section, an outer rim section, the inner and outer rim sections are concave rim sections - at least two end rim sections - an oblique rim section extending from that end of inner rim section which is distal to the corner defined by one of the end rim sections and the inner rim section and to the inner most corner of the end rim section wherein said blank structure may comprise - a plurality of scoring lines disposed vertically at one of the two end rim sections and, extending from inner concave rim section to outer concave rim section - a scoring line, horizontally extending from end rim section to the inner most vertically extending scoring line starting from the end rim section - an oblique scoring line, radially extending from the inner concave rim section to the inner most vertically extending scoring line starting from end rim section
The blank structure may further comprise a section connected to an end rim section along a scoring line, to define a cut out provided at the end rim section opposite to the rim section at which the plurality of scoring lines is provided.
The scoring line is preferably disposed vertically at the end rim section opposite to the rim section at which the plurality of scoring lines is provided, and extending from the inner concave rim section to outer concave rim section.
Preferably, the cut out extends from the inner concave rim section and towards the outer rim section.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF AN EMBODIMENT
Reference is made to figure 1, illustrating a blank structure 16. The blank structure 16 is provided in a sheet having scoring lines defining the rim sections 3,5,4,6 of the blanks.
The blank structure is attached to a section 9, comprising - a stack of blank structures. The stack comprises a plurality (now shown in figure 1) of blank structures 16 being stacked so that the same rims of each of the blanks are coinciding. The blank structures are attached to each other at the section 9. - a front and a back cover (not shown in figure 1) having an outer shaped as the rim sections 3,4,5,6. - a scoring line 13 is disposed vertically at the end rim section 11 opposite to the rim section 6 at which the plurality of scoring lines is provided. The scoring line 13 is extending from the inner concave rim section 4 to outer concave rim section 3. - a cut out 10 is provided at the end rim section 11 opposite to the rim section 6, at which the plurality of scoring lines is provided.
Figure 2 schematically illustrates the blank structure 16, ripped off from the section 9, along the scoring line 13.
The blank structure 16 comprises: - an inner rim section 4, an outer rim section 3, the inner and outer rim sections 3,4 are concave rim sections 3, 4 two end rim sections 6, 11 - an oblique rim section 14 extending from that end of inner rim section 4 which is distal to the corner 15 defined by one of the end rim sections 6 and the inner rim section 4 and to the inner most corner of the end rim section 11 - five scoring lines 7 disposed vertically at one of the two end rim sections 6 and extending from inner concave rim section 4 to outer concave rim section 3 - a scoring line 12, horizontally extending from end rim section 6 to the inner most vertically extending scoring line starting from the end rim section 6 - an oblique scoring line 8, radially extending from the inner concave rim section 4 to the inner most vertically extending scoring line starting from end rim section 6
The blank structure 16 has a thickness, larger than 0.25 mm such as larger than 0.5 mm, preferably larger than 1.0 mm.
The blank structure 16 has a height 1, larger than 10 mm such as larger than 20 mm, preferably larger than 30 mm.
The blank structure 16 has a width 2, larger than 30 mm such as larger than 60 mm, preferably larger than 90 mm, and is preferably made from paper or plastic.
The user has two options to form a blank paper: A first embodiment of a blank paper, to form filter tip 1 A second embodiment of a blank paper, to form filter tip 2
Figure 3 schematically illustrates the first embodiment of blank paper 17 to form the filter tip 1. When the blank structure 16 is ripped off from the stack of blank structures, by tearing along scoring line 13, the blank paper 17 is formed, by ripping out the section defined by the scoring line 12, the inner most vertical scoring line starting from end rim section 6, the inner concave rim section 4 and the end rim section 6.
The filter tip 1 is formed, as ordinary in the art, by the following steps: - Folding the fins 22 (which is formed by each of the five scoring lines 7) back and forth, to create the blocker in the filter tip. - The section 23, formed by the inner concave rim section 4, end rim section 11, outer concave rim section 3, oblique scoring line 8 and the inner most vertically extending scoring line starting from the end rim section 6, is now rolled up towards the end rim section 6, with the fins inside it.
The filter tip 1 may be applied on homemade cigarettes.
Figure 4 schematically illustrates the second embodiment of blank paper 18 to form the filter tip 2. When the blank structure 16 is ripped off from the stack of blank structures, by tearing along scoring line 13, the blank paper 18 is formed by ripping out the section defined by scoring line 12, the oblique scoring line 8, the inner concave rim section 4 and the end rim section 6.
The filter tip 2 is formed as ordinary in the art, by the same steps as forming the filter tip 1, and may be applied on homemade cigarettes.
Figure 5 illustrates a filter tip 19 seen from the top, when it is rolled from one of the blank papers 17,18. This is one way of folding the fins 22 to form the blocker 20, and should not be construed as being in any way limited to the presented example in figure 5.
Figure 6 illustrates a filter tip known in the art, from a side view. Without being bound by theory, it is believed that the filter tip in figure 6 does not have an external perfect round shape (now shown in figure 6) and an excess flap 21 is protruding at the end of the filter entering the user's mouth. The user has to squeeze the flap 21 with his/hers thong/mouth, in order to keep the filter having an external round shape, and thereby preventing the smoke not to excess at undesired places.
As a technical effect of the cut out (#10 figure 1), the excess flap 21 is avoided on the filter tip 1 and filter tip 2.
By choosing blank paper 17,18, the user avoids the excess flap, and giving the filter tip a more external round shape, with no need to squeeze the filter with his/hers thong/mouth.
The difference between filter tip 1 and filter tip 2, lies in the technical effect of the section defined by the oblique scoring line 8, the inner most vertical scoring line starting from end rim section 6 and the inner concave rim section 4. In filter tip 2, this section is additionally ripped off, and the filter tip 2 obtains an internally more round shape and straight edge, preventing the smoke to excess at undesired places.
Another difference between filter tip 1 and filter tip 2, is the position of the blocker 20 inside the filter. In filter tip 1 the blocker is placed proximal to the users mouth, which has the disadvantage (believed by some) of the tobacco getting in physical contact with the users mouth.
In the filter tip 2 the blocker is placed distal to the users mouth, which has the advantage (believed by some) of the tobacco not getting in physical contact with the users mouth.
Another advantage of the filter tip 2 is that the filter tip does not need to be pressed further in to the cigarette, such as a homemade cigarette, in order to prevent the smoke excessing at undesired places.
Any of the blank structures 16 referred to above, can be used in a storage structure (not shown in figures) for containing blank structures. The blank structure is provided in a sheet having scoring lines defining the rim sections 3,5,4,6 of the blanks.
The stack of blank structures comprises a plurality of blank structures, being stacked so that the same rims of each of the blanks are coinciding. The blank structures are attached to each other at the section 9.
The stack of blank structures further comprises a front and a back cover (now shown in figures) having an outer shaped as the rim sections 3,4,5,6.
The individual elements of an embodiment of the invention may be physically, functionally and logically implemented in any suitable way such as in a single unit, in a plurality of units or as part of separate functional units. The invention may be implemented in a single unit, or be both physically and functionally distributed between different units and processors.
Although the present invention has been described in connection with the specified embodiments, it should not be construed as being in any way limited to the presented examples. The scope of the present invention is to be interpreted in the light of the accompanying claim set. In the context of the claims, the terms "comprising" or "comprises" do not exclude other possible elements or steps. Also, the mentioning of references such as "a" or "an" etc. should not be construed as excluding a plurality.
